Biography
An award-winning writer, comedian, children's author and podcaster.
Catie's first book, My Best Friend And Other Enemies was published by Nosy Crow, in 2012 to great acclaim, being selected for the Bookbuzz list of 2013, ranked at No. 1 in the Top 10 Children's Books For Christmas by The Independent, and nominated for a FAB Book Award. The series continued with My Brilliant Life And Other Disasters in 2013; My School Musical And Other Punishments in 2014; and the fourth book, My Great Success And Other Failures in 2015. The translation rights have been sold to many countries including France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Turkey and Korea. More books followed, with 'When Good Geeks Go Bad,' 'The Weird Friends Fan Club' and the latest, 'You're Not The Boss of Me.'
Catie co-created the smash hit Comedy-True-Crime Podcast 'Drunk Women Solving Crime' in 2018, with comedian and screen-writers Hannah George and Taylor Glenn. They have played to sell-out audiences across London and the Edinburgh Festival as well as the rest of the UK. Catie co-hosted until 2024 when she stepped down from the podcast, but still retains 33% of the rights for creating it. In 2022 the trio won a Writers Guild Award for their sketch, 'Remeber Getting the Period Talk at School #Menopause' staring Jenny Eclair.
Catie appeared on Jon and Lucy's Odd Couples, on Channel 4 in 2023. The TV show was hosted by Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont, and pitted couples against each other to be judged and analysed by relationship coach Charlene Douglas.
Catie has written for the BBC, The Independent Blog, New Humanist, Tantrum.xyz and Standard Issue Magazine. She has appeared on ITV4's Stand Up Hero and performed her own Edinburgh Fringe shows to sell out audiences, getting nominated for the NOTBBC Best Live Comedy Show.
